He Believes in You!

“Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. 32He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Luke 1:30-33

I was in conversation with the Lord this week thanking Him for spiritual understanding and revelation that He has given to me concerning the mysteries of God. These spiritual mysteries are those that have been hidden from so many people who have greater intellect than I. In the words of Paul “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Cor. 2:7,8

It came to me that God would never grant someone revelation and the responsibility to use that hidden wisdom if He did not believe that we were capable of handling it. That is an amazing blessing in itself. I want you to know that God believes in you!!! He believes that you can handle the Truth that has been released to you. Just like Mary the mother of Jesus you have been chosen to receive the favor of God so that you can bring Truth to others and thus be a part of His purpose on the earth as the Bride of Christ, His Church and image of God to the world. Your part is no less important. Each of us has a piece that must be fitted together in order to correctly reflect Christ and His love.

What the Lord is emphasizing throughout scripture is that everyone has a part of the story that is being told to all mankind of God’s great love for the world. It is a story that cannot be told by one person. The entire Christmas story involves many different characters and is only one part of the drama called the history of mankind. We are in the last scenes of this drama and God is calling out to you and me “Do not be afraid (your name), for you have found favor with God.”

It is time for you to take your position in the drama of life. God has chosen you and believes that you can do what is necessary as part of His body for His kingdom to come and will be done on earth. As Stanley Grenz has written, “The Father sent the Son in order to realize God’s eternal design to draw humankind and creation to participate in his own life. Only in our Spirit-produced corporateness do we truly reflect to all creation the grand dynamic that lies at the heart of the triune God.”

We need each other to successfully fulfill our assignment in God’s eternal purpose! I pray that you will have a very Merry Christmas and realize you also have been chosen by the King of Glory! He believes in you!

Do You Want the Assignment or Not?

It is a good question and has been asked to an unnumbered amount of followers of God from the beginning of time. “Do you want the assignment or not?” It is usually posed at a very unsuspecting time in a person’s life. It is not like you go job hunting and you are waiting for a reply. No! God interrupts life as we know it, to create life as He wants it to be!

Scripture records history changing answers to this very question, but this same question is asked to all who follow Him. Though your assignment may not be equal to that of Moses, Gideon, Mary the mother of Jesus or Paul the apostle, it is of no less importance in God’s developing plan for all of human history.

 Right now we are in that time in history where every decision is of the utmost importance. All of heaven has heard the cries of fifty million babies who never were able to live out their destiny in this world. They were created for earth to prepare it for our King and His Kingdom that has been given to those who believe. But Satan has deceived many and the assignments are passed on to those who hear.

I hear alright! I was recently complaining to myself about life. I would never complain to God, but He overheard my conversation. Then came the question. “Do you want the assignment or not?” I was reminded of the many in scripture that God posed this question to. They were not looking for the job, but it came to them. Some complained, ie Moses, and God yielded to their complaints. “So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said:…(Ex. 4:14).” He gave him Aaron and the rest is history. Others yielded to Him, “Then Mary said, Let it be to me according to your word (Luke 1:38).” And yes, the rest is history. Same question, a response is required!

In the most difficult times in human history God always defers to one of His own. One who has been reconciled to the Father whether he or she understands fully the implications of their decision to follow Him or not. That is just it! We often don’t know that we are qualified to carry out the assignment, but we are. We have His DNA and we are made from the same stuff! A chip off the old block you might say. Each of us carry a code, when activated by faith that enlists us in the redeeming plan of God for all creation. It is in you! “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end (Ecc. 3:11).” It is in you and it is time! That is why the question comes at an inconvenient time, because no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end, until the assignment is released. Then the Lord places the ball in our hands and says, “Do it!”

I know that we are living in perilous times, but they are perfect in His eyes. “Do you want the assignment or not?” Don’t be afraid to say “Yes!”
