For quite some time now I have been hearing the company name 3M. To a prophetic person and one who hears God’s voice in many ways, I knew I needed to do some research. In my mind I am thinking it must have something to do with the 3Ms. What are the three Ms? I know that I have been focusing on my own three Ms – Mind, Memorization, and Meditation. With all that is happening around us we must focus, focus, focus or our minds will become our enemy and destroy everything that God has spoken into your life! It is putting on the mind of Christ that allows you to walk in His Kingdom as a change agent in this world. It is here where the battle rages!
So I have been concentrating on God’s Word and meditating on kingdom principles that define my life. What are you allowing to define your life? How you think. What you think on. And what you remember will determine the outcome of your life. This is a daily exercise for each person to practice if they want to fulfill their purpose and destiny in this world. Do not allow circumstances to define your life! God’s purpose for you supersedes the circumstances surrounding you.
I do my research concerning the 3M Company and found that God was revealing something deeper than my thinking. It has nothing to do with the 3Ms. God is speaking to His people and specifically me about being self motivated. This is what I found concerning the 3M history from their website.
William L. McKnight Management Principles Created 3M's Corporate Culture
William L. McKnight joined Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co. in 1907 as an assistant bookkeeper. He quickly rose through the company, becoming president in 1929 and chairman of the board in 1949. Many believe McKnight's greatest contribution was as a business philosopher, since he created a corporate culture that encourages employee initiative and innovation. His basic rule of management was laid out in 1948:
"As our business grows, it becomes increasingly necessary to delegate responsibility and to encourage men and women to exercise their initiative. This requires considerable tolerance. Those men and women, to whom we delegate authority and responsibility, if they are good people, are going to want to do their jobs in their own way.
"Mistakes will be made. But if a person is essentially right, the mistakes he or she makes are not as serious in the long run as the mistakes management will make if it undertakes to tell those in authority exactly how they must do their jobs.
"Management that is destructively critical when mistakes are made kills initiative. And it's essential that we have many people with initiative if we are to continue to grow."
What I believe that God is saying in this hour is to greatly encourage people to take initiative in serving Him in creative innovative ways. SET MY PEOPLE FREE! Do not be critical of mistakes because they are essential to personal growth and development.
I believe we are entering into the greatest hour of the Church of Jesus Christ as each member functions fully in their purpose to bring glory to the King of kings! We are living in very exciting days and each of us has a part in building His Kingdom! Be free from the fear of making a mistake. Step out of the boat. Not only will Jesus be there, but so will we!
