It is a new year ready to be discovered! A friend of mine is writing a book that was inspired by one of my encounters with Jesus. I called it the "Blank Canvas" because the Lord chastised me about coming to Him with the picture of my life all painted in the way I wanted it and thought it should be. I remember Him saying, "Why do you have the picture already painted? I want you to come to me with a blank canvas and allow me to paint your life's picture!"
Do you have 2010 already painted? Does the painting resemble 2009? Man, you have to come into 2010 with a completely blank canvas because Jesus has a new picture to paint or different colors to add to what He is doing in your life. It is time to explore the Wonderful World of God. Why does everyone love the Wonderful World of Disney? Because it is a fantasy land and you can experience things there that you only dream of. That is the Wonderful World of God! It is not based on what you see or know. It is all about dreaming the impossible.
I have been reading John Eldridge's new book on marriage "Love and War." One of the keys to a good marriage is a shared adventure between you and your spouse. May I say one of the keys to having a great relationship with God is to have a shared adventure. This year take a risk and dream with God! Step out of the boat and walk with Him.
Using the walking on water illustration, don't let the distractions take you down! No doubt we live in a world of distractions and that is one reason that we all love to go to Disney. To get away from the distractions and just walk on that water! I was told that when you ride a motorcycle the key to steering is to turn your head and look. You will naturally steer in the direction your eyes follow. You will go where you look.
That is pretty good advice as we head into the new year. When Peter kept his eyes on Jesus he walked on water. He did the impossible in spite of the circumstances! Circumstances mean nothing to God. Circumstances are part of the picture we paint. God's painting has a totally different landscape. Turn your head and look at what He is painting! King David said, "My eyes are fixed on you Lord!" Great advice for the coming year. What are you looking at? Step into the Wonderful World of God!

That's a good word sir! Hope all is well in Plymouth! Hope you had a great New Years!
